Special events included fashion shows featuring clothing from the shop of John Doyle Bishop in Seattle and exhibits featuring jewelry art designed by Salvador Dali.

In 1948, before Seattle University established its offices of advancement and public relations, Father Lemieux, SJ inaugurated the Seattle University Guild and invited prominent Seattle women to assist him in promoting Seattle University to the wider Seattle civic community. Edmund Ryan, SJ, assumed office as Seattle University's 19th President in 1975, but served only 133 days after inauguration.
